Mythology and Adrenaline: Abode of the Gods ATV Tour (Half Day)
Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and dive into a half-day adventure that combines off-road thrills with Andean mysticism. Our ATV tour to the Abode of the Gods (Apukunaq Tianan) is designed for those seeking a dose of adrenaline without straying too far from Cusco. You will ride your own machine through rural landscapes, breathing fresh air and enjoying spectacular views of the valley and the region’s tutelary snow-capped peaks.
The highlight of the route is a breathtaking complex of monumental sculptures carved directly into the living rock of the mountain. Here, Andean deities such as the Pachamama, the majestic Puma, and the Inca await you for jaw-dropping photos. Additionally, if your route conditions permit, we will extend the adventure toward the peaceful waters of the Piuray Lagoon, a hidden mirror of water nestled among the mountains of Chinchero. It is the perfect blend of living culture, modern art, and motorized fun!
Route Highlights
- Abode of the Gods (Apukunaq Tianan): A modern stone sculpture complex. You will find giant representations of the Andean worldview that appear to emerge straight from the mountain.
- Piuray Lagoon (Optional): If you choose the extended route, we will ride up to this beautiful lake in Chinchero, surrounded by pristine nature and guarded by the majestic Verónica and Chicón snow-capped peaks.
- Poroy Viewpoint & Colonial Aqueduct: Strategic stops to catch your breath, take panoramic photos of the Cusco valley, and learn snippets of colonial history (Fortaleza Aqueduct).
